Chelsea R. Horwood, M.D., M.P.H. was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from Saint Louis University. She remained in St. Louis to attend medical school at Saint Louis University, School of Medicine. Dr. Horwood then made her way back to Ohio for her General Surgery Residency at The Ohio State University. During residency, she also obtained a Masters of Public Health degree with a focus on Clinical and Translational research at The Ohio State University’s School of Public Health. During this time, Dr. Horwood also served as a research fellow specializing in systems-based safety and human factors engineering.
She completed her a two-year fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care and Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at Denver Health and the University of Colorado in Denver, CO. She is dual board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. Chelsea is a member of the Eastern Society for the Surgery of Trauma and the American Association for Surgery and Trauma.
